Focusing on renewable energy, and energy efficiency, Utah Clean Energy advocates for policy change and regulatory reforms that support the widespread deployment of these technologies, and conducts education and outreach to advance clean energy across Utah and the West. Utah Clean Energy has a track record of engaging with diverse stakeholders on innovative and effective programs and projects, including the Solar Salt Lake Project, Utah Wind Power Campaign, and Utah Climate Campaign.

POW's $4,000 grant will go toward the Clean Energy Campaign, with 2012 benchmark goals for a 12% reduction in electricity and natural gas consumption (as compared to business-as-usual levels), and a 12% increase in the use of renewable energy. Meeting these goals will put the Utah on track to achieve state goals of 20% renewable energy by 2020, a level that Utah Clean Energy estimates will reduce the state's carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 5 million metric tons, in the electricity sector alone.
