Besides being a great time with industry friends, the Uphill/Downhill Challenge’s primary goal was to raise funds for the US Ski Mountaineering Team. The event was successful in collecting over $1300 to help fund the team’s trip to Andorra for the Ski Mountaineering World Championships from March 1-7, 2010.

“The Uphill/Downhill event was the highlight of the SIA On-snow Demo/Free Ride Fest for many of us and was one of the coolest things we have done at an on-snow event for many years. It was really incredible to see how many people showed up to ride in the event and all the different kinds of gear that was used. There was Telemark, Alpine Touring, Freeride and even Split Snowboards on the hill. I think everyone agreed that the 1st annual Uphill/Downhill Challenge was a huge success and that it instantly became a classic must do event for the future,” said Kim Miller, SCARPA's CEO.

Prizes were awarded for category winners and the fastest overall individual, Travis Scheefer (Dynafit Team) with a time of 27.22 minutes, won a pair of SCARPA F1 carbon fiber boots.

The winning team was the SCARPA Elite team with a team time of 91 minutes. Individual times were combined to determine the winning team?s overall time. The SCARPA team members included: Brian Wickenhauser/USSMA Team Member and Small Business Entrepreneur, Jon Brown/Elite Adventure Racer and Ross Schnell/Professional Mountain Bike Racer.
